A morning outside at 7 weeks old.

The litter spent the morning in the garden today. They were held for lots of the time and then played in their playpen. There they learned to look around this beautiful world seeing new things like trees and clouds and a BIRD!!!. And the sounds, who knows what that was they heard??? AS you can see, their beautiful Havanaese silky hair is coming in and they are BEAUTIFUL!!!

Max is HOME!!

Max made his big tip home to Minnesota this weekend.  He is adjusting very well and got a GREAT report from his new vet. We are ALL very happy.  Here’s what his “Mommy Person” had to say:

“Hi Karen! We have just returned from the vet w/ a great report on Max!  He weighed 4 lb 7 oz. And I almost didn’t leave with him- as he melted so many hearts there!  He is adjusting very well to our household and Lilly (our older cocker spaniel)- sleeping very well in his kennel and only using the potty pad in his “palace” and outside. Many thanks for this well loved, adorable dog. To put it the way the vet said it- “I have seen many puppies, but this one looks like he was raised on a featherbed” 🙂 – meaning by loving people- and that we chose a very good breeder-
And I second that!
Love from Max.. and us!”

Little Miss Ma’ Belle is on her way HOME :)

This precious little character is on her way to her loving family near Lake Charles, LA.

(Notice that she is learning to put all kinds of things on her potty pad.)

She is now 9 weeks old but remains very petite at 2.75 pounds. She  has been the clown of her litter. We are going to miss her but are thrilled  to hear the excitment in the voices of her family. May Belle, you have been a joy for us.  Stay in touch sweet baby girl:)

Learning to eat.

The puppies are now active and playing hard.  They like you to come and greet them and they wrestle with each other. They are cutting teeth and love to chew..on their toys, your fingers and each other. They especially love to chew on the metal spicket of the water bottle. I’m sure that feels good on their sore little gums. As of today they all three ate their puppy mush.  By next week, when they all have a mouth full of teeth, we will begin to mix the solid bits of food in with the mush.  A very messy process because they walk right in the plate and then all over their clean bedding.  Kids!! 🙂

May Belle is going to live in Lake Charles, Louisiana

This precious little gal is very busy learning how to play, drink from the water bottle and interact with the adult dogs and people of our family. She stills prefers to nurse but is being given “puppy mush” several times a day so she can aquire a taste for it. She loves to be held.

Moving Day at 4 weeks old!

Today was a big day for Gracie and her pups. All were moved from their whelping pan and into their play pen. The pups now weigh about 5 times their birth weight. Beau weighs  33 ounces and both little girls weigh 27 ounces.  They are open eyed, up on their feet and learning to play and “bark” at each other.  The extra space is well used.

We placed them into this hand basket while we set up the play pen. On the outside of the pen is a foot stool so Momma Gracie can jump up to enter the pen. On the inside of the pen we place another stool, called the nursing stool. This is how Gracie jumps into the pen. It is also the post from which she can observe her pups without being available for nursing. In this way she is present but NOT constantly available for  feeding. She is more controling of their nursing time. We now introduce “Puppy Mush” to the pups.  So far they do not care for it, but soon, they will aquire a taste and Gracie will begin the long process of weaning. Lots of fun to watch as the personalities of the pups begins to reveal themselves. Sweet, sweet babies and devoted Momma!! Gracie continues to just snuggle and love on them even when all are sleeping. Precious!

May Belle at 3 weeks -last pup AVAILABLE from this litter.

Sweet little May Belle remains the smallest of her litter, but that does not slow her down. She was the first to walk. She is very sweet and loves to be snuggled. Notice how her black “necklace” around the back of her neck is feathering in with her beautiful silky white hair.

Bonnie at 3 weeks is RESERVED

Little Bonnie is wide eyed and on the move.

She is getting stronger everyday.

She loves to be held close and enjoyed being held last night for about two hours.  While she seemed to enjoy being snuggled by me, I think I was the one who had the most fun!!

Belle at two and one half weeks old.

Miss May Belle remains the smallest of her litter , but by a very small margin. Her eyes are open and she is moving with a determination that shows that she is very strong. She is pulling up to her feet so that she appears to be at a “slow motion march.”  Her black spots still form a narrow black necklace around the back of her neck.

A very pretty and delicate little girl, indeed!

Bonnie at two and one half weeks old.

Bonnie’s eyes are open and her ears are coming up. Her coloring remains cream & champagne or caramel.  She is just a bit larger than her sister but smaller than her borther.  She is one pretty little lass.
